DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I make films about people who are stuck between desire and permission — characters who are painfully aware that they are seeking validation from others, yet still cannot free themselves from its grip. My stories are rooted in frustration, in the quiet violence of waiting to be chosen, recognized, or allowed to exist. I’m drawn to naturalistic situations — auditions, rehearsals, friendships, professional dynamics — but I like to fracture reality by letting dream logic seep in: moments where fantasy, performance, and emotional truth collide. Dance is central to my work, not as spectacle, but as architecture — a way bodies reveal what language cannot, a structure that shapes the film’s rhythm, space, and emotional progression. I aim for a lightness of tone that never denies pain, where humor and tenderness coexist with disillusionment. Whether on stage or on screen, my films explore how art becomes both a refuge and a trap — a place where we search for freedom while still needing to be seen.
